How to read transits

A transit is the position of a planet in the sky at a given moment, compared with the positions in your birth chart. The natal chart is inside the wheel, the planets at the chosen time outside. A line between them means the transiting planet makes an aspect to a planet or angle of your chart.

We list the five major aspects (conjunction, sextile, square, trine and opposition) with an orb of 3°, 2° for the sextile. Each shows the span when the aspect is within orb and the moment it is exact; a retrograde planet can be exact more than once. The Moon changes every few hours, so the list shows it only for a single day.

Without a birth time there are no houses, Ascendant or Midheaven, and transits to the natal Moon are not listed because its exact position is unknown. Positions are calculated from the NASA/JPL DE442s ephemeris in the tropical zodiac, houses by Placidus.
